Step 2: Audit Structured Data

Run every schema block through Google’s Rich Results Test before considering it done — invalid markup is either ignored or flagged, not partially credited.
Step 3: Audit Content Clarity
For each key page, ask: does the first 100 words state, plainly, what this business does, for whom, and where? If the opening is brand narrative (“Founded in 2015 with a passion for excellence…”) rather than a direct factual claim, it needs rewriting — not because the narrative is bad copy, but because it delays the fact an AI model is trying to extract.
Also check for topic sprawl: a single “Services” page trying to cover five distinct offerings vaguely is a common readiness gap. Splitting it into five focused pages, each answering one specific customer question, is usually the fix.
Step 4: Audit Trust Signals

Deciding: Patch or Rebuild

But semantic HTML structure — replacing div-soup with proper heading hierarchy and semantic tags — and true single-topic page architecture usually can’t be retrofitted onto a page-builder template; the templates themselves generate non-semantic markup by design.
